The State we're in

Our Queen (Elizabeth) is lying in state -
This State we're in, was her’s apparently.
Our government however, claims
It rules those within this State.
But isn't that a dual proclamation?
(Yet apt given the dire state of the nation).

...Doesn’t the state we’re in, however
- Crown ownership aside -
Rely upon our sovereign mind?
The laws and policies we revere
Informing our experience year after year,
Our thoughts and paces, airs and graces
Create the world over which we reign.
So with good heart, just like a Royal
Take up the reins and lead your mind
Keep its subjects happy, moral and good
Then our state will be the best that it could...

And the Queen was parent to the King
Heir apparent, Charles her son
Whose seeming State we are now in.
God Save the King!
